Digital Physiognomy is an entertaining psychological profiling software application that applies face analysis to estimate human characteristics and to identify personality type. The tool works like a police sketch, so user has to select different parts of the person's face. Among the characteristics it evaluates are intellect, optimism - pessimism, conformism - adventurism, egoism - altruism, laziness, honesty, even luck. The application comes with a set of more than 1000 samples of human face reading. #46 Dear Gotd, I been joining you for years, I really like to thank you for all this effort for giving free stuffs to us. Some ppl just don't know how fortunate they are to get free softwares and games when others don't know this site.
Regardless yesterday or today software is useful, we are just so lucky to know you guys and all the contributors. Today's software may not be a 'polished' one but I believe the creator have passion to made this software before.
I think this is a really fun and unique sw and u just need to play around n get the 'hook' to do it. The 'Physiology' may not be fully accurate but who cares! For 'some' is just so ungrateful to complain as this is FREE so take it or leave it. Don't whine like a baby, why don't you create one like this then you have right to 'criticize' others.Keep it up guys.:O). You obviously are not following the instructions correctly. Why you'd need some detailed help file in order to use it is beyond me, it's fairly intuitive. It had no issues with WinXP SP3, install and registration were easily done. The included 'famous people' pictures are very small and low resolution; but where the program really shines is in it's bizarre sketch interpretation of what a photograph looks like. I haven't seen a single sketch yet that looks even remotely like the picture.
You would never ever be able to ID anyone with this type of sketching. No matter who it is, the faces all look flat as a pancake, there is no depth at all to them. They look like a bad interpretation of Dick Tracy villains. The program does say it is an entertaining piece of software, so no disclaimer that it is for entertainment use is required. It's not something I would go out and look for, but seriously, the sketching needs to be improved 1000% so that it looks like the photographs.

But like many of you here. I could not find a place to add Registration name: Giveawayoftheday. But after putting in my Registration key and checked it 2 times. (It would allow me to add the Registration key again but it is not present in the About page.) I do however see the Giveawayoftheday entered on the about page.
But I certainly never added it there. I don't know if it was there before I added the Registration key or not. I hope it is registered it gives you no proof of registration either. The program did seem to install fine and does run okay. My grandkids will love playing with this one. Thanks Giveawayoftheday.
If anyone can come up with a better way to register please post it here so we will all know. Have a very good weekend. I installed on WinXP sp3 and installed great no problems at all. Have a very good weekend. So far it's ben more entertaining just reading the comments. @3 Dave, perhaps better. Enlist the services of a Physiognomist. @13 Steve lmao, that's very good insight.
Now romantic couples can Physiognomize them selves and each other for fun, to predict how Physiognomoniacal their offspring become after they hear that thier parents participated in Pre Matital Physiognomolus activities. I'd be curious what would this software reveal about Mr. I am gonna have to pass on this giveaway I'm afraid. This is another perfect example of the fact that some people have WAY too much free time on their hands. Thanks for the comments, you guys all gave me a good laugh like i haven't had in a very long while.:-) Physiognomicly speaking of course. #39 i downloaded, installed, registered, but i'm not sure that the registration 'took' because it doesn't show the registration number i input, just gives me another opportunity to put the number in. I note there are quite a few bmp files in the program folders and i'm wondering why these couldn't have been the smaller jpg file? I figured out how to get my face into the program, but i have yet to figure out how to analyze it, thus, the program isn't immediately intuitive. The answer isn't given in 'help' as is the answer to how to get my face into the program. I can't take more time to play right now, but i look forward to understanding this program more. Obviously this is the type of program that will face derision from some, but will be welcomed by others. THANK YOU, please keep offering these kinds of programs.

As a point of information, Anthropometry - or in other words, the basis of this software - was much advocated by the Nazis prior to WWII. The National Hygiene Department in the Ministry of the Interior and in the Bureau for Enlightenment on Population Policy and Racial Welfare, proposed the 'scientific' classification of Arians and non-Arians on the basis of quantitative measurements of the skull.
Official craniometric certification became required by law and were carried out by hundreds of certified institutes and experts. Many persons were sent to the death camps or denied marriage or work as a result of this 'mismeasurement' of people. Your view may differ from mine, but I believe people are valuable for who they are inside, not what they look like on the outside. This software is deeply insulting.
It panders to prejudice and hatred, and I hope the authors rethink what they are doing. Errr - right. #34 Digital Physiognomy doesn't scan an image of face or otherwise analyze it - instead you try to construct the basic features to match a photo, & as you do you'll see one to three characteristics, e.g. 'Diligent, Hostile, Optimist'. Below its sort of Identikit window you can search for similar faces among the included images, and elsewhere you can add images to the app's gallery, save, &/or print an Identikit image. While there is a help file & plenty of tool tips, it took me 10-15 minutes of playing around to figure it out - IMHO it's not that intuitive, plus I was expecting something more along the lines of the cell phone apps supposed to gauge attractiveness while working with the photo itself. It doesn't import a lot of image formats, & saves fewer, though I'm not sure that matters much since you're just using the photo for reference, & could just as easily have it open in another viewer like Windows own. Installation isn't bad, though I was surprised at 2,366 files in the program's folder taking up 41 MB with 10 folders.
Installed & registered there are 3 new app keys + one uninstall key. You're given a name & key to register in the GOTD readme.txt, but the app only takes the key & doesn't show a 'registration successful' message or anything - it does show registered in the About window. I expected something along the lines of those beauty rating apps for your cell - I guess understandable with all the publicity & debate they've stirred. Digital Physiognomy is more work, & as you get into matching characteristics in the Identikit, you can get focused enough on the matching that you forget why you're doing it. Saying that I don't mean to dismiss any debates on whether judging anyone's facial characteristics is good/bad.
As for Physiognomy itself because it's mentioned in the Help file & on the dev's site, & is why after all today's GOTD app exists. Every so often you'll read of a university study where they'll have people come in and rate altered pictures of people's faces - those studies I recall found that overall facial shape, plus symmetry, spacing, & placement of features apparently can play a role in whatever traits people.expect. that person to have.
If Physiognomy confirms your maybe subconscious visual 1st impression of someone, you'll likely think it accurate - when it disagrees you'll probably dismiss it as bogus. All in all not that different from the way many people read a generic horoscope. Those for Physiognomy often point to things like testosterone levels, which can effect both facial characteristics & behavior. Those against often say it's just another example of profiling, that the whole is more than the sum of it's parts, that we're individual people. Are ya curious about the different 'people types' out there.? Install this one and you can spend plenty of time getting a little insight - Look for 'similar to your' friends & family & co-workers & put it to the test & decide just how close this can be in the descriptions. I'd even say for someone @ front desk or in the sales dept.
Of any business can get a little insight into those looks you clients can give ya! Anyhow, installed great on Vista, loaded fast with none of my security apps screaming at me so I'm going to look for my mother-in-laws' face & see if this software agrees with my opinion!! Installed & registered without any problems on Windows Server 2003 R2 not every program likes this system. The program needed only the registering keycode & it extracted the GOTD name from it. The application simply works by receiving your mouse clicks. After each change it updates his provisioned personal behaviour.
The application is very fast, so one can select things & check, select & check, etc. The application itself is innovative, but somewhat new & strange. I really do not have opinion about it nor the responsible association proposal of it.
divination night party for kids? BTW. Please tell me who is really & objectively a truthfully normal person in psychologically terms without any even tiny one glitches???:-D And who is enough authoritative to prove or rebut it???:-D. No place on the registration window that pops up for name, and putting in provided registration code results in no change, tried several times, no result- can still enter registration code again, and again. All purchase options are still also avail on the help menu. I even tried a wrong code and it didn't even reject it, just same as with correct code. How can we check to make sure it is registered in case the registration enter window is bad/bugged?
Would really like to keep this and use past the 14 days, help! I also cannot get the registration to work. #26 I installed this program because of the less-than-stellar reviews it was given here. I figured that the program would be bad and I was not disappointed. This program is poorly constructed. The included pictures are bad, the artwork is worse. The graphs are impressively meaningless. It is built on non-science.
It is one thing, perhaps, to be able to read a person's facial expression and body language. It is another thing to categorize a person as 'optimistic' on the basis of his nose size or ear shape. If you can take the program seriously, contact me. I have some farmland in Manhattan that you might be interested in buying. (The program also reflects an ancient Greek psychological model that was based on the concept that our temperament is derived through four basic body fluids.) -It is not useful for work in any way. (Try using this program for employee evaluation or hiring and you will be looking at lawsuits.) -It is not useful for personal insight, since it is pseudo-science.It is not useful for play, since you can't enter your own photos.
The best part of this program, for me, is that now I can see the effectiveness of Acronis True Image 'try and decide' feature. In a moment, it will be as if this program never existed on my system. The included examples bear very little resemblance to the reference pictures. There is no auto trace feature; the auto-robot is only useful if you already know what you need, making it pretty redundant.
Certainly the only way people would pay any amount of money for this product in it's current state is if they were A. Giving it as a gag gift, in which case the price could be no more than $5 or B. Buying it sight unseen online or in store out of a bargain bin next to the home remodeling software. Not a good program. Runs very slowly for what it is. Also, program shows version 1,782 whereas web site shows latest version as 1.77 Trying out the programs 'newest' feature (finding people with similar personalities) by clicking on 'Find' then 'Find on Map' results in the program crashing every-time. A nice idea, but difficult to use, and as inaccurate as it's version info. Definitely NOT worth the asking price - no more than an amusement only program.
And the amusement wanes after trying out for an hour. Win XP SP3 Downloaded and installed OK, not too sure if it it registered as the 'registration' and 'Buy Now' boxes remain intact. #13 Possible bugette. In playing with faces, clicking to select e.g. A new nose results in one set of traits being identified. Click again on the exact same feature choice (without changing anything else) and a slightly different and sometimes contradictory (honest/slyness)set of traits are named. This doesn't always occur but it is pretty frequent. For 'practical' purposes, e.g styling animated characters, avatars etc it would be useful to be able to invert the programme so that likely features of a determined nature could be selected from.
It would also seem useful to have 2 face sketches available e.g. (1) the chosen starting point/last saved version alongside (2) the current version. A two or three-faced version would also enable you to play with merging of characters (your own and that chap who promotes those coffee makers for example) and the physiognomic traits of your likely offspring. Would sell hugely in the little-exploited, reluctant mother-in-law sector. Possible bugette. In playing with faces, clicking to select e.g. A new nose results in one set of traits being identified.

I actually know some of the people in the samples, and I am glad this is an 'entertainment only' program, because the 'sketches' don't look anything like the real people - I wouldn't recognize anyone from the sketches, they're really bad - flat heads, small eyes, pasted on ears - really, this is one of the stranger programs I've seen in a long time.
I'm not sure what it is good for, but it sure is fun fooling around with it. As others said, physiognomy is pseudo-science, and is not to be taken seriously. There are a great number of combinations of facial elements, and therefore the program has a lot of potential for generating unique faces, poorly drawn as they may be.

Can import photos of faces OK but I think a tutorial or introductory help pages are needed to get the user up and running OK. Unfortunately, program crashes when I attempt to use the copy photo robot so I'm a long way from being able to assess the traits of Tom Selleck, Aung San Suu Kyi or Fred Flintstone. Being able to batch process lots of pics (e.g.
For selecting/slandering political candidates or choosing the ideal housewife for toilet cleaner adverts) would be a good thing but obviously not possibe here. Knowing exactly what the effect of choosing a new nose at the plastic surgeon's in terms of how I'm likely to be viewed as purposeful, charismatic etc would be good too (especially if I was a plastic surgeon persuading the gullible).
Don't know about the i.d. Accuracy in the rest of the gallery pics - or its consequences for the physiognomic appraisals - but Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington is misidentified as Nelson. Looks like it could be a lot of fun and is a welcome giveaway.

Creative writing, for one thing.
Having trouble defining characters in your novel/screenplay? This could help. In fact, were I the developer of this software, that's the audience that I would target with this.rename this as 'Character Pro' and sell it as writing software; licensing it, perhaps, to the Movie Magic/Final Draft/etc. Folks for screenwriting or Dramatica/Scrivener/Liquid Story folks for novel writing.
