The Silent Install options for InstallShield installer /s Silent mode. For an InstallScript project, the command Setup.exe /s runs the installation in silent mode, by default based on the responses contained in a response file called Setup.iss in the same directory. /r Record mode. In order to run an InstallScript project installation program in silent mode, you must first run Setup.exe with the /r option to generate a response file, which stores information about the data entered and options selected by the user at run time.

Running an InstallScript installation program with the command Setup.exe /r displays all the run-time dialogs, and stores the data in a file called Setup.iss, created inside the system’s Windows folder. Response file name and location, use the /f1 option, described below. /f1 Specify alternative response file name and path Using the /f1 option enables you to specify where the response file is (or where it should be created) and what its name is, as in Setup.exe /s /f1'C: Temp Setup.iss'. Specify an absolute path; using a relative path gives unpredictable results. The /f1 option is available both when creating a response file (with the /r option) and when using a response file (with the /s option) /f2 Specify alternative log file name and path When running an InstallScript installation in silent mode (using the /s option), the log file Setup.log is by default created in the same directory and with the same name (except for the extension) as the response file. The /f2 option enables you to specify an alternative log file location and file name, as in Setup.exe /s /f2'C: Setup.log'. Specify an absolute path; using a relative path gives unpredictable results.

Follow the procedure described below to install CapturePerfect. 1.Turn on your PC. Windows starts. Notice If you are using Windows NT 4.0 Workstation, Windows 2000 Professional, or Windows XP, be sure to log on as a user with administrator privileges. 2.Load the setup disc in the PC’s CD-ROM drive. 3.On the Start menu, click Run. Those setup.exe files generated with InstallShield inherently support the creation and use of answer files that may be used to silent install applications.

Received my JP Silent Captured Spring for my AR just an hour ago and I figured I would document the install for those that may be curious. Step one is removing your stock to gain access to the buffer tube since you will need to back it out about two turns to remove the buffer retainer pin, if you so choose. Here you can see the JP Low Mass Buffer and the retainer pin Simply use an adjustable wrench to back the buffer tube out about two turns I put some tape over the retainer pin so that when it backed out, it would not go flying through my living room. You will be left with the pin and spring This is the complete system being replaced. The Silent Captured Spring as it will go into the buffer tube. Note that the spacer is located in the rear This part is why removal of the retainer pin is recommended Close her up and she is ready to go As soon as my Viper PST comes in (been waiting ages o.0), I'll post a range report. Haven't shot this girl in a month.

Shouldn't have sold my glass till I had the replacement in hand haha. I received my first JP Silent Captured Spring last Thursday and will receive a second one this week. (I've been on back order since March) I installed it with the pin and spring in place simply because I didn't want to unscrew my buffer tube. I may remove it later. If you leave the pin in you'll need to take the upper completely off the lower and have the hammer fully cocked to get the assembly in the tube. I haven't shot it yet but like rest of the guys here I've locked the bolt back and then shouldered it and dropped the bolt release.

That teeth rattling reverberating KA-CHANG!!! I can't wait to shoot it, hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday.

I noticed that it won't fit the Magpul UBR stock. I could cut the rifle length spacer however I don't feel like it tonight. Just got it in this afternoon.

I just put it in another rifle. Will test it this weekend. As for the retainer.

I just left it in there. It didn't take any longer to install the JP spring as it does a mil-spec spring. Also it didn't take any longer to get it out. Did it with a Bic pen.

Where and how did you notice this? Did you read it somewhere or did you try to install it in your UBR? I just dropped it into my UBR without any issues.

Any idea if that is true and how to custom tune it? JP has said they are going to release different springs in the near future tuned to different weights for people that want a more dialed in feel.

As with any precision spring, I think for us DIY guys, heating/rolling/cutting these springs to tune them at home will lead to one conclusion: You are going to have a bad time. It just sits flush with the tube. I noticed that due to the conical shape, it sort of wedges itself in the rear of the buffer tube, and knocking on the side or back of the tube will make it drop out. Since the spring isn't under compression, it really takes all the drama out of it. Plus, with the retaining pin out of the way, you can easily drop it out of the buffer tube to oil and clean it, which was always a bit annoying to me with the regular setup. You have a tried and true system that works, your traditional buffer spring, and you are simply swapping it out for something that has been through the R&D from an elite company in the business. What you get then is a more solid feel to the gun via the removal of that raspy noise we are all accustomed to. I feel the same about buying from JP as I do LaRue; complete faith that they stand behind their products 1000%. So I do not necessarily see this as a performance upgrade in the slightest. Just the refinement of the platform as a whole.

Hey, brother sorry about that. I was up all night working so I was more tired than I thought. I remeasured it and dropped it in the UBR again and everything cycled fine. It looks like it will work with the UBR after all. At first I believed that the gas key was coming in contact with the lower receiver. I have it in a 300BLK SBR with suppressor and hopefully I will have some video of it very soon.

Well, it works. My rifle, exploded. My rifle, back together. This is pretty ingenious; the guide rod stays in place, while the buffers and BCG (which are hollow) slide around the guide rod. I would describe shooting it as uneventful. It sounds like shooting a suppressed AR, when previously it sounded like shooting a pogo stick with a bunch of weights banging around.

The recoil impulse felt virtually the same, maybe a little more 'even' feeling rather than feeling the buffer slide backwards, then forwards, but certainly not a difference worth writing home about. The sound reduction is the real benefit here, and in my opinion, the $130 is worth it if you are bothered by the spring noise. If you're not bothered, it's not worth it.

I hate spring noise. It doesn't work on full auto, which is the same thing JP will tell you. I went ahead and removed my retaining pin.

If you like to transport your rifle broken down, you'll want to either remove the JP-SCS from the lower or leave the retaining pin in, otherwise it'll be running into your hammer as it bounces around. I transport my rifle assembled, so it doesn't affect me.
